3rd Generation Water inside the door

that's right, water is getting inside the passenger door of my gen3

I've noticed this after raining lately, where i can actually hear the water sloshing around INSIDE the door (water isn't leaking inside the car, it's just inside the door).

So I unplugged the little plug at the bottom of the inner panel of the door, and let most of the water drain out.

After I drained the water out, I poured water around the door handle and door lock but no water got inside the door so water can't be getting in from there.

Next, I poured water around the window seal (bottom of the window, see pic) and there was definitely water leaking into the door because I could see water sloshing around as I moved the door.

I was wondering if there is any potential "fix" for this? Other than replacing the seal itself of course....maybe applying some sort of silicon to seal "the gap".....comparing the seal-to-window interface of the pass. door there appears to be more of a gap than that of the drivers side, but it could just be all in my head.

I was saying how sillicone might cause a bad reaction and fuck up the rubber... or it just might plain look like ass. :\

Most doors are not waterproof. Internal parts sensitive to water seeping in are shielded. The bottom of the door should have drain points to allow the water to flow out. Look closely at the under side of the door for these points. Most likely they are plugged with debris.

I'd just change the window seal. Any other attempt at a fix will not work for long...this has been my experience with quick fixes for problems like this.
I'd try to find another seal at junkyard, the cheapest way. If not then they are not really too expensive.

I think the water getting in there is normal. Like stated above, the problem seems to be with the drains. Did you clean out the slot in the rubber plug before you reinstalled it. On my 94 it was clogged when the car ws purchased new by the rust proofing the dealer used. Pull it back out and clean it; then check the other drain holes with a toothpick. You might notice more water coming out.
