You don't need a template.
Clean the trunklid and buy a role of scotch brand masking tape - good stuff.
Place tape on the car all around the areas where the bolts touch the car. (I would use two or three layers, and then when you have the wing where you want it, you can press down on the wing and make dents in the tape to mark it.)
Put the wing on the taped up trunk. Visually square it up side to side and in relation to the back edge of the trunk -- locate it where you think it belongs. (Also, lift the trunk and look at the underside - there are likely already holes where the wing will go, so you will not need to drill through the underside. (If you do, you will need a large bit or a hole-saw so you can get the bolts on the wing. Also, buy bolts with nylon locking nuts built in.
You can measure from the wing to the right and left edges of the trunk to make sure you have it square. Then, mark the studs where they hit the tape, remove the wing, centerpunch the middle of the hole you need to drill and drill the holes.
I would start with an 1/8 in ch bit, then move to a larger bit. You may need a round file to shape or move the hole a bit (make the opening oval).
Do not use silicon. It is corrosive and causes rust. (Rookie mistake). You probably do not need to worry about water leaks if you tighten the wing up tight, but if you are paranoid (like me), you can buy 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive at any auto-parts store, and run a bead around the holes.
Its easy, and won't take all that long to do.
