4th Generation struts and springs from 4cyl to V6. (also, anyone selling v6 gen4?)

ok so my car has the 4 cyl, the motor blew a rod and the chassis and everything is in bad shape, concidering buying a v6 camry of the same GEN and moving the parts i have over to the new cam. the eibach pro kit apparently is for the 97-01 camry and it doesnt specify a difference between 4cyl and v6, the kyb-gr2's say if v6 stock depleted use 4 cyl struts, any idea? will the struts and springs bought for the 4 cyl be ok with the V6. obvious the rears will be fine but the front will have a little more weight on it. p.s. anyone selling their v6 gen 4??

the srpings and strut difference basically just has to do with the weight difference so if you get 4 cyl ones you may sit a teeny bit lower.

nothing to really be concerned about, but its probably just in your best interest to get v6 ones if possible.

the struts should be the same

and with the springs, the v6 will just sit lower- or since you have eibachs and their drop is minimal, you will then get a much better drop

thanks for the advice. i would kind of like the front to be slightly lower than the back anyways. with the 4cyl they sit even front to back. if i do a 4 cyl to v6 swap, does the entire exhaust system all the way back need to be replaced?

not really, technically...

though the diameter of the exhaust systems are different- 4=2", 6=2.25"

most people go with an aftermarket exhaust anyway, so that's usually not a problem

otherwise, it would probably be a good idea though, since the 2" piping is really a bit too small for the power that the v6 puts out

4th Generation

Sorry to thread jack this but my situation is kind of the same.

I'm leaning towards dchriste's setup with Eibach pro-kit and may move to 17" rims. Is the eibach front and rear alignment kit required for this setup? I have KYB gas shock but not the GR-2. They're almost 4 yrs old so maybe I can switch to the GR-2s when its time to change. Also, which is better, Tein S tech or Eibach pro-kit? I noticed the Tein are alot cheaper than Eibach but from what I read, the drop for front and back are minimal. Less than the Eibach.

Thanks.

I could have sworn the tein gave more of a drop if anything than the eibachs

and the gr-2's are perfectly fine for the eibachs

and no- no need for the camber kits at all- not even close

I think there a 2 types of Tein springs. The one I saw had less than 1" of drop. As for the Eibachs, its 1.2" for front and rear. Thanks for the input.
