4th Generation New hubs necessary for drum to disk brake conversion?

I've been reading a thread about the 4 cyl drum to V6 disk conversions...and I was wondering if I can keep the 4 cyl hubs, or do I have to use the v6 hubs?

Some say I can use the same...others say I have to swap to V6 hub. I'm guessing the V6 one is a little thicker in depth?

From what I've read..the primary item (wrecking yard) that I need are the calipers with pads, caliper mounting bracket, and parking brake lines? Will I need to pull the hubs too?

I was thinking I could buy new backing plates ($19.00), disks (26.00 napa), parking brake flex lines, and axle bearings.

Am I way off in my assessment?

Last, how can I tell my car was built in Japan or US? Do I have to pull the above from the a car (v6) built in the same country mine was built?

Thanks and God Bless!

Can't help you with the hub, but if your VIN starts with a J, it's Japan, if a 1, it's US.

The parts list for the Gen 3 has different numbers for the I4 and V6. You would also need a proportioning valve from a V6 rear disk car. What else don’t know? Check with an auto parts store either locally or on-line. See if they list a different part number for the I4 drum and V6 disk brake hubs.
