3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It's been a while since I've visited the forums. Since then I've done the 9005 Silverstar mod and am loving them! Anyway, I have a '95 (Gen3.5) Camry LE I4. Is it supposed to come stock with a front strut bar? I know people generally recommend against getting aftermarket strut bars because the stock one is "thick enough." What if it's not there? Is it worth getting the front strut bar first or a rear sway bar? Like I've said, it's been a while for me on the forums. Things have been rearranged a bit. Are there any reviews or comparisons on front strut bars?
i don't think it comes with the FSB.. u have to buy an aftermarket one.. whiteline is good one.. and i think there's still selling em.. go to groupbuy threads..
Thanks for the responses! Other than Whiteline, are there any other popular brands of rear sway bar available? Does Greddy make one? I just want to test the waters. I don't want to blow too much money if I'm not going to continue with this hobby.
I have a Ractive front strut bar. When I installed it I felt a definate noticeable decrease of body roll, and an increase in handling. Definately worth the $30!
you can get all you whiteline stuff from raptorracing here on TN, check the group buy thread (the GB is over) for the parts that he can get for you for the camry.
the TRD is nice, 20mm and adjustable to feel like a 24mm
after installing the RSB, FTB, and FSB (in that order) the improvements increased less and less each increment, but overall body roll is down. hopefully i will have enuff money to buy my boys suspension soon.
i hear the TRD FTB is the best...it even looks thicker/stronger than the ebay ones

the rear sway bar will make the most difference, on the gen 3 you dont really want to do both the front and rear sway bars. You really only need the rear sway bar to get rid of some of that understeer.
Strut bars are worth it for 30-50 bucks, I have a ractive one as well.
try searching for both strut bar and sway bar, there are several threads on this subject
No problems with the TRD one thats made for the gen 4?
Yeah. Same size as the Gen 3. . Only thing is MINE did not come with bushings, and I can;t find correct bushings to fit the Gen 2, so I have to carve mine out. but the br itself is a perfect swap to a Gen 3.

lol since we're on the topic of sway bars...my rear sway bar from whiteline is making some horrible noises going over bumps, especially speed bumps. its like LOUD creaking noises...what could be wrong?
lol thats right...my friends and i didnt do that because we were tired and soaked from installing it in the rain. haha
i guess i can take off the bushings and grease it up. hopefully its not too late.
by the way...if by chance i cannot find the grease that came with it, what should i be using?
