3rd Generation Trannie problem

I have a 94 camry xle, the right around 25 and 45 it almost feels like the transmission is slipping, it will rev into high rpms, and then the gear will catch and the car will snap foward. Have any other gen three owners had this problem? Any easy solutions besides swapping out the transmission?

If it just that the transmission doesn't shift until high RPM, but the car pulls hard: that's normal for cold engine. If the car doesn't pull, but RPM jumps up, like in neutral, that's not normal and probably a bad sign.

I would check the tranny fluid level and quality and you can make a drain and refill - it is not harder than oil change.

Thats good news for me... I always thought that my transmission was abit dodge, but it must be normal

As for the trans problem, I heard that one way to check if its slipping, like the above poster referred to in relation to if the car is pulling... is if the RPM's are rising but the speedo isnt, then its slipping.. or something like that
