3rd Generation Windshield washer problem

Hey guys,

I got a 96 camry with a windshield washer fluid problem. For some reason when I hit the washer fluid button on the leverage by the wheel, my windshield fluids don't come out but the blades will work. I took the whole tank apart and even checked the plastic fluid lines and they seemed ok. Is there an electrical problem to this? Does anyone know?

The wiper fuse is located behind the ash try on the driver’s far side of the dashboard. Right in front of where you left knee would be. For more details find the service info at the link below.

I have a simlar problem on a 97 LE 4 cyl
Chilton manual shows a blue wire feeding to the pump & blue white leading away. The blue is fed through a fuse -- the same one as the wiper motor (wiper motor is OK). the blue white comes from the WF terminal on the wiper relay. I will look for power at the blue & ground the blue white to see if the pump runs bypassing the relay. Not even sure I can get to the pump i used -40 fluid so should not be frozen

most likely the pump died. i got one from a junkyard for $10 when mine decided it had pumped enough blue shit. its fairly simple to replace if you are handy.

On my old car the problem was that there was a crack in the fluid hose between the hood and the protective heat shield.

If the pump is not getting electrical power i'd just run a new fused wire straight from the battery. Problem solved. After spending half an hour upside down under your dash looking for something, most people would agree with me.

Alot of times the washer quits working because that skinny hose for the fluid is clogged. Just pull off the fluid line and blow it out with compressed air (tire air works fine)
