Here's a picture of the grill painted black except for the chrome parts.

Thanks midnight. Yeah, show me some pics of yours when you're done. I'm thinking I might change this one again so that it's mesh with the chrome edges.

the 97 doesnt have a detachable grill...its part of the bumper. it would be difficult to not overspray onto other parts of the bumper.

i wouldnt recommend doing that. plus we dont have the chrome edges either, so it wouldnt look as cool.

I painted it myself. I just got a can of spray paint, cleaned the grill, and taped off the chrome parts with masking tape and that's about it. But yeah, the 97's don't have the removable grills so that would be a problem.

a nice R34 BUMPER WOULD LOOK NICE AND MAKE THE MOST AESTHETIC CHANCE TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR. 2ND most extensive change would be from projector headlights.
a guy in my area has a green gen , 97 or so camry. green with a full body kit and dual exhaust, dropped, chrome rims and real skyline r33 taillights. but its not cheap to put a r34 bumper and paint it after fitting and priming and stuff. wishing thinking on my part.
