odd experiences after using seafoam?

After using seafoam in my brake booster line and throttle bottle, have yet to put it in crankcase and gastank, I do feel quicker acceleration and startups. But these affects seem to wear out but Smoother idles do seem to stay.

But one thing I noticed after starting up my car the first time after using seafoam, there was not only a lot of smoke coming out my tail pipe which is normal, but there was a steady whiff of smoke coming out near the edge of the heat shield for about 5 minutes. Is this normal or does it indicate a exhuast manifold gasket leak? Is smoke suppose to come out under the hood at all?

Does anyone have any other odd experiences?

if it's being sucked into the intake manifold and going out the exhaust, you've got an exhaust leak. you should be able to hear it if it's big. smoke could easily be anything else though.

I sprayed deep creep into the TB and then poured it down the Brake booster., and I can see it come up near the heat shield, which I suppose this is where the exhuast manifold is?

It's funny that you say I should hear it, sometimes I do hear a subtle blowing or wind noise or kinda like a drumming noise while idling but its not all the time. Would you say this is the kind of noise you would hear from a exhuast manifold leak?

Golly gee! What a miracle product. Is there anything Seafoam can not do? Will it help my cold?

I would have thought that brake cleaner would work well on your booster line while fuel injection cleaner would have done the trick in the gas tank.

Just curious how something that works in the gas tank can also do something beneficial in the oil. If it burns well in your gas tank, won't it wash the oil off of the cylinder walls, thus INCREASING engine wear? Just curious.

I don't mean to offend anyone but is there any science, other than word of mouth, behind the claims of Seafoam? You still can't defy basic chemistry laws!

its like Simple Green, its made to be a general deep degreaser and cleaner(but dont put simple green ir ur engine ). im sure it does depleat some of the oil in the cylinders but over time groves just develop along the cylinder wall and its replenished every revolution.

It's an oil base or petroleum product that acts as an cleaner product but it's also used as an lubricant too for one of its many uses according to the product info. It oils down all the carbon deposits collected over the years and then allows it to be burned away by heat. When you put it in your engine oil, it makes your engine oil dirty quickly because all the deposits get removed and transferred back into the oil so you dont want to leave it in your engine oil for long.

I think people here usuallyl agree to change it out in less than 500 miles. The response I got from seafoam was to drive it at least 30 mins and change the motor oil out no more in 200 miles. I guess when it serves as a cleaner, you dont want to take out the trash as soon as the job is done and you shouldnt leave it in there longer than you need to.

They also told me the product only restores function and if you see wierd shit happening after using it, then you are seeing end of life products or problem parts being exposed. Then the question is all was fine before I used it, now why do I have problems I didnt have before? So I guess the problem was there all along and you didnt know about it or the problem was there but not big enough to be noticed.
