3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I guess it depends on your state, since you dont need insurance in New Hampshire.
It's cool that people have the option. But what happens if an uninsured person causes an accident and totals out somebodys brand new car or even worse injures someone. The person at fault would be royally screwed because they choose to not carry insurance. Would they have to pay out of pocket for damages? Probably so.
I could be wrong but it seems worth the money to protect your ass-ets with insurance.
I'm not trying picking on you, just want to know how it works in New Hampshire.

I do agree that we should all have insurance, because someone I work with got in an accident and the guy didnt have insurance, so you have to go after them personally, and usually sue them.
When I was younger me and my mom got hit by a truck when we were walking, and the guy didnt have insurance so we had to sue him for pretty much all the money he had, since we both went to the hospital.
Damn yeah you gotta have insurance wether its $300/month or $50/month. I'm going to call my insurance provider (State Farm) and see if I can get less coverage. You guys are right, full coverage is just a waste on an old car with little value.
if it isnt a law its simply cuz the pop. and income level isnt high enough to justtify forcing it. but it should ba a national law...ive seen the damage done by an at fualt driver without insurance and its a crime. but we all have our insurance so i guess it dont matter neways.

In New Hampshire there are very few bums, poor people, etc compared to other states. I think it just has a part to do with the "Live Free or Die" slogan :P
Here in Friendswood (suburb of Houston) i pay close to 70 for my 97 camry (v6) and 65 for my solara (i4). I'm 30, no tickets, no accidents. and both are full coverages.
About $450 / 6mo for this '93 ES 300 & the civic hatch now.
Full coverage on old cars is nuts. Pay 1/3 of the money & put 1/2 the money save din the bank. Take the other 1/2 & take a welding class at night.
