Hi,
I installed a DEPO lens (i'm not sure if I installed it right) and the beam pattern looks much different. Will reaiming the headlights make beam pattern ALMOST THE SAME as original? I bought DEPO in faith that it will improve visibility on the road, but right now it is much worse. I know I need them aimed but I am little bit worried if it will improve to at least as good as it was before.
What is your experience? I am talking about low beam pattern.
Thanks...
no matter what you do the 'pattern' wont change, but you can re adjust its aim via the usual means.
if you wanted better lighting, new quality bolbs wouldve done the trick if ya lenses were clear or a lens clean if they werent.

yeah, angle them first and see where you are... the 9005 mod would help a little bit with more light, but the gen 3 tends to have crappy output anyway.
angle them first. my depot lights are just fine, although i think my passenger light is slightly off with the beam being in the center and not center left.
I got 9011 HIRs in both low and high beams already. I'm just talking about the beam pattern. I would like it to have a nice consistent pattern like this image of a Subaru with HIRs:
Do you get a consistent pattern similar to that with halogen bulbs and DEPOs?
Right now I just get a few bright spots and very little light anywhere else.
Would getting boosted HIDs be a solution for gen 3's crappy output?
HIR bulbs ARE halogen bulbs. And with halogen reflector headlamps, you'll never get a "consistent" beam pattern because of the reflector design and where the light is reflected.
If you get HIDs in stock reflectors, not only will your pattern be worse, but you'll be blinding everyone in sight.
If you want a good, wide, consistent beam pattern, http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t178884.html buy this, and do a retrofit... and make sure to cover the holes in sides the projector with aluminum so light doesn't leak.
Otherwise, you're stuck.
EDIT: You're getting hot spots with the HIRs because the reflector in your headlamps wasn't designed to reflect that kind of intensity of a bulb.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

low beams=down and to the right, high beams=centered. look in your haynes manual on how to adjust your lights, its simple enough.
i have no problem with my light output, ive got silverstar's in low beams, and silverstar's XS in my highbeam. nice white, good visability...
BTW- in stock lenses.

EvoFire: exactly; that's what I'm wondering.
white3ch0c0late: Of course the only way I would get HIDs is retrofit. And of course that would change the beam pattern to an IDEAL ONE because of the projector. That's why I'm asking only about experience with halogens and DEPOs.
also, when I was asking around earlier somebody said that DEPO clear headlights will be a direct bolt in in a 1996 Camry. However, i found that it wasn't true for my car. The two bolts that are on the side where the grill is are in way different position than they were before and thus I couldn't do anything about them.
Can't be directly compared when the differences are so small b/c I didn't use the same exposure settings on my camera. I can tell you from my experience that there was absolutely no difference in intensity b/w OEM and DEPO.
