little things that do not add much power (less than 1 hp per thing listed) unless you have forced induction then it'll add more.
cold air intake
a little bigger exhaust piping
hi flow cat
header
then u got the stuff that makes a difference
light weight pulleys
higher compression ratio
tuned cams
lots of other tuning crap
dinitrogen monoxide (with rebuilt engine)
forced induction and everything that goes with it (lower compression ratio) (with rebuilt engine)....
seriously, since u have a camry, it depends on how much money u want to spend.
the best thing to do is v6 swap but u need money and knowledge.. lots of knowledge. unless u get someone else to do it for u =P or the 3s swap...
suspension seems to be a popular thing to do. no power gains but gives better handling
either coil overs or lowering springs with tokico struts
whiteline rear anti roll bars

1mz-fe and 3mz-fe will fit.
need engine mounts
need all the electrical crap (wiring, ecu, etc) (sorry i really don't know much about this area yet)
and misc stuff u run into.
3s-gte is a stock turbo engine (i4). some people prefer this but u need custom mounts for this engine. as well as all the electrical stuff
around $3k to $6k sometimes even more for the swaps.
it'll suck to buy the engine cause then u'll find out there many many many other things u'll need. so u want a doner car. some wrecked up camry with the engine u want.
before u do the swap, u need to read up. its not just a weekend thing. might take a year or 2 years. it all depends
so if u decide u have the money then... all the power to u =]
now if u feel like u don't have the money or that u feel that money can be better spent then u can go with some basic mods that don't really do much. and buy urself an evo or something or just sell ur camry =P

yea...camry's came w/ v6's too...not just as easy as dropin' in a 6 tho...
I did the free air intake mod, and made custom exhaust w/ some parts laying around the garage...i've gained some power w/ them both but nothing drastic...definetely worth doing tho...being free and all

for that i can jus buy a turbo kit and stick in a nitrous system in there, but i was looking into these kinds of engines they really dnt but out much power...1mz-fe puts out 180-190 but the 3mz-fe puts out 225
3mz-fe sounds best for me at this time but the thign is wheres the money?????
neways about me car wat about every1 elses? wat u got running under the hood?

i can go do kits, it hard to see on my pic of the car but i did go n get tints for it and i getting a crazy system for it...bubt i also dnt wan to be a sluggish fool on the road wit a hot system, but if anything and all goes well meaning no crashes or stupid things...i'd buy a turbo kit for it... plus im da kind of guy that i like to keep my things no matter what. I had a Nissan Quest '97 (miniVan) n when my mom sold it, i was pissed(im only 18 working a minimum wage job)...i dnt wanna trade in my car for a v6 although is could favor me in some way but i want me lil camry to stand out both body wise and performace wise

on the bottom right hand corner of ur post, click edit, and add to it if the previous post was urs. so u don't have 2 consecutive ones =P
yeah, its a camry, not much made for it. i mean it is a family car right ? ummm tony has a turboed v6... u'll like it.. except he had the money, skill, and time to do it haha. theres a few others too with crazy camrys. but as i said, u need custom work cause afterall its a camry. basically that sums it all up. no money or decent money = nothing. lots of money = good camry that owns everyone elses (of course time and skill too =P)
i have a full modified suspension. the only thing under the hood is sri lol
too poor ugh.
so first, decide on what where u want to go with ur camry now that u know theres not much premade for the camry =]

u wont find any aftermarket things for camry's besides intake pretty much. It all has to be done custom and will cost a lot of money. For you, trading in your camry for a v6 one would be much easier and probably cost less. If you can, go for the 5spd, it will make it more fun and a better platform incase you ever do go fi. If you don't want to do that, go for style, kits, tints, sound system, etc.
Personally I have a 98 xle v6 and right now the only really noticeable mod I have is tints, working on sound system, then its most likely supsension or exhaust
Sell it and buy a V6 model unless you just want to have fun blowing money and tinkering with the car. I have a v6, 5speed, TRD SC, headers, 2.5 in exhaust and sticky tires, and I am just keeping up with the new v6 camrys and accords, maybe a little faster. It works for me as a daily driver, but I would not call it anything more than reasonably quick. I have owned and hot rodded a lot of cars, from 1974 240Z with a V8 to a C6 Z06, and I one thing I learned from all of it is this: if you want a fast car, start with the fastest stock version of whateve model of the car you want to buy.

^yeah sorry i was being stupid.
it'll be better if u traded it in for a v6. with the v6 camry, it'll be pretty good. no where near a sports car but it'll be a decent daily driver and not sluggish like the i4.
but if u want powerful, u have 2 choices. buy a higher class sports car. or spend lots and lots of money to make ur camry really powerful.
if his 4 banger is manual, and auto v6 isnt really any faster.
