4th Generation Steering wheel squeaks

I know this is kinda of a random thread but sure:

My steering wheel has recently just started squeaking when i turn it, regardless of a tiny turn or a full turn. It's fairly quiet and sounds like its coming from the column of the steering wheel. It's a high squeak, almost like ballons rubbing against another. My power steering fluid looks okay, any other ideas?

Well my sound isn't exactly awful, it's just a bit annoying when its completely quiet, that's all. It doesn't feel anymore different, so I think your problem may be slighty different.

This has been covered several times. It is most likely coming from where the steering column shaft goes through the firewall. There is a rubber grommet in the firewall and needs to be lubricated. Most people suggested white lithium grease or a silicon lubricant.

If may just be the cold weather. I know it happened about 3-4 times to me so far during this winter.

So does that mean we need to take the wheel off in order to apply the lithium grease?
