4th Generation Aftermarket Alternator Pulley..???

Sup everyone...

I've searched the Web for hours and hours and I haven't had luck finding aftermarket alternator pulleys for a Gen 4 Camry V6...

Is there a manufacturer that makes these..??

If there isn't, is it possible to swap in a pulley that is originally built for a different car...??

Thanks for the help...

as long as the belt fits u certainly could but ull loose some of the functionality of the alternator, a buddy with a stang had to take out his subs when he swapped his pulley. now that was on a stang so there may be a differance. but the slower the alternator moves the slower it will recharge the battery from what ive been told.

I'm asuming a lighter pulley would be easier to spin, am I wrong..??

Anyone else has thoughts about this..??

Your best bet is probably a junkyard. These pulleys are not easy to pull off, you may need an impact wrench, a vice and some tool or some way to hold the pulley from turning. And a puller tool, a 3 jawed puller might possibly work but the proper puller tool is better - there is a risk you can wreck the pulley with a 3 jawed puller.

Unfortunately you need a pulley the EXACT same diameter of the one you have, or else your belt wont fit. If you can buy a burned out alternator it may save you money because all you want is the pulley - but ultimatley you might have to even get another alternator if the part is not available seperately -

if ur talking about underdrive pullies then its the diameter that changes, lightweight pullies are easier to spin and wouldnt change anything as far as operation cuz they're usually the same size. some u can get are both smaller and lighter. i was talking about underdrive pullies, but if ur gonna swap out ur pullie with somthing stock from another vehicle, expect it to be about the same weight. most stock pullies are relativly heavy as apposed to lightweight which are usually made from aluminum.

3rd Generation

I have an unorthadox underdrive pulley for the gen3 from nate's cam. I'm pretty sure they never made a v6 model. Try checking out the vortex website. They may have something you can use. If you want pics of the underdrive, tell me and I'll get them for you. Good luck.

if you are talking about alt underdrive pulley they make the altantor spin at a contsantily faster speed to have the output needed for high power system (audio).

like stated before the light weight wount make a differnace becasue it is not that much force to turn alt pulley
