1MZFE Datalogger

I have been wondering for a very long time if anyone knows of a datalogging unit for the Camry. I know a lot of cars have some type of laptop based datalogging system. I'm guessing we have absolutely nothing without going to a standalone unit like an AEM EMS. But, I thought I would try and ask. Maybe there is something that I'm not aware of or couldn't find doing research? Let me know.

Are you looking for direct readout or info sent to a data logger for later readout? Davis Instruments appears to make a plugin module recording system.

Says 1996 or newer, but im guessing any OBDII would work? Do you just keep it plugged in and monitor the specs?

I would love to be able to hook it up to my laptop and have it display detailed engine specs, like A/F ratio, etc, but i think im just dreaming :P

EDIT: I checked the compatibility list and it said its compatible with the 1994 Toyota Camry V6's.

not sure if it works but i too wanted to connect my labtop to my car
so i search msn, google, ask.com
and found some kits for the OBD2
seems like it works but not sure
i think all it really is just the wire for the obd2 connector straight to the labtop and a software that comes with it to install in the labtop
ima get one just to try it out for shits and giggles

Check this out. I like this one a lot too, but I don't have a laptop yet. I would much rather have this even though its more expensive.

Unless you plan on really building the engine, you should probably just stick to the scangauge type devices. People usually only use laptops when they have independant engine management systems installed, because that type if information takes a lot of logging and space. We use a obd2 complient scan tool that has cartridges for imports domestics. Using that, I can tell you just about anything. We proved a guy was lying about his insurance claim, when he claimed he was going 25mph and lost control due to tire failure. According to the scan tool, he was doing 72mph before losing control when he slammed on the brakes. Also, just so you know, the manufacturer's scan tool, can do anything that the engine computer is capable of, including reprogramming the ecu completely. Ask any GM tech in Hawaii that worked with my co-worker. He had them trying to figure out why the check engine light wouldn't go off, when he just programed the light to stay on.

If you got money lying around you can get one of these.
