hey all! i have great news. if there are enuf ppl interested, Random Modifications is gonna make a vented carbon fiber hood for us gen 3's  . for an idea of what it will look like, take a look at this RX7 version:
this is a brand new company, owned by Justin Conde ( aka Wraith ). he has taken the price down to $580US. keep in mind that this vented version sells for only 80 bucks more than the stock hood.
if you dont have the money now but still know you will get it, just reply to this message and include approximately when you can have the money. that way Random Modifications can set a production date.
if you have any questions, please post in another thread. this thread is only for the purpose to see who is interested and when they can afford this product. thanks!
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I don't think "Random Modifications" is that great a name. Shouldn't modifications be thought out, planned, and researched? It seems that only ricers would perform "random" modifications.

Um, so, are you saying that names of companies really matter? What about C-WEST, INGS+1, SARD, RAYS Engineering, GAB, and other japanese named companies? The name has nothing to do with the companies qualities or product use. Maybe you should quit dogging that name. Justin has the balls to make this company and I think that people should stand behind him instead of clowing on the NAME of the company. Why don't YOU start a company? Maybe you can come up with a better name... geez. gimme a break. No wonder a lot of people hate some of the people in the camry community. When people try to do things for the scene, there has to be people who bring them down. NUFF SAID.
PEACE. I'm out.

we the consumers want to make sure we understand what the company is thinking, yes names don't matter much but "Random" does sound insecure, sometimes packaging makes a difference. however besides the name (enough with the name folks  ) i think what RM is doing is great, making products for other cars instead of following the honda trend or something...if i had a camry i just might go for the hoods, but then again if i had a camry i wouldn't be able to afford the hood

Cool down cowboy. First off, the Japanese in general butcher the "Engrish" language more than anyone else on earth so thats a lame f***ing excuse. Secondly, starting a business is ridiculously easy, it's making the business succeed which is what separates all businesses.
One last thing, what the f*** was that supposed to mean about "whenever someone tries to do something for the scene, someone has to bring them down" ?? You think JEFF of all people wants to somehow sabotage the scene?!? cmon now, lets not talk foolishness...

latez.
I don't know about all this petty argument bullsh*t but I do wanna comment on the whole "whenever someone tries to do something for the scene, someone has to bring them down" statement. Agree or not, it is true. I'm not saying that Jeff is one of the guys but it is true. It's pretty much a fact that many people who tune Camry's look at the whole import scene as a whole negatively. Instead of making things happen, many people just bi*ch and complain about lack of aftermarket support. People who tune Camry's look at Camry's negatively. I can't even count how many times I've heard people complain and complain. I've been reluctant to really push anything for the gen. 2 market cuz it is really small (pretty much about 2% of people actually modify these cars) and if the parts are made available and pushed, people just take advantage of them. You always get sh*t like "Oh that's ricey" or some other negative sh*t like that. All the while, the people that turn their backs on custom mods and new things have the same looking cars as the next guy.....I can't even begin to tell you how many Camry's/Solara's have the exact same kit, exact same color, and exact same rims......It gets tired real fast. I know some of you are gonna come back with the old "well that's the only thing they make for my car" line but in all seriousness, that's a big load of sh*t. For the price of say...the TRD bodykit (back in the days when it was still a regular retail item and not on clearance), the kit went for well over a $1000......For the price of a couple pieces of urethane, someone could have gone with a custom bodykit that turned heads and brought attention to the Camry scene for around the same price, if not lower. I know I might seem like I'm babbling but it is true. The Camry scene in general is boring and often shunned upon because many people who tune these cars make it that way with their negative remarks and generally negative attitudes. If you want something to happen, make it happen. Don't settle for just the norm and follow along robotically to shops and get the exact same parts to make your car look exactly the same as the next guy's. If you wanted your car to be like someone elses, why do anything to it at all? You get about the same reaction being stock as you would rocking the same sh*t as anyone else. The car tuning/Import scene screams for originality and creativity.....why limit yourself to what "they" make for your car. You ever wonder why people look down on Camry tuners? Because they all look the same, it's boring. There's nothing for people to get excited about.
Now to you, Jeff may not be "the guy that wants to sabotage the scene"....that's cuz you know him. To many other people, some who may be new to the board, he may seem incredibly cocky but his remarks...... "it seems only ricers perform random modifications"......that line in itself is somewhat of an attack towards Justin Conde. By saying what he said, he made it sound as if Justin was a ricer and anyone else who buys his products is a ricer. That's incredibly rude and ignorant of him to make such a comment, not to mention an attack towards Justin's business. Why would any aftermarket company even think about making aftermarket parts for the Camry platform after a Camry owner made such a rude comment? That's not very smart of someone who doesn't wanna "sabotage" the scene. Especially when someone is actually willing to make parts for your cars. I don't know Jeff personally and many of you do, but someone who views this board regularly may see this place as a Jeff Shek shrine, seeing as how many of you seem so fascinated by his car and what not. Speaking as a Camry owner who reads this board regularly and who truly tries to be unbiased at all times, some of you seem intent on defending Jeff whenever possible and push him as a Camry tuning god or something. He's just one of the guys, and what he said, agree with it or not, it was disrespectful and uncalled for.
Random Modifications is a name, just a name. If the parts are produced and people want it, it shouldn't matter if the company was called "Dog Sh*t Mary". Real people who mod cars buy parts whether the name is good or bad. Results are results, bottomline......

No need to turn this into a whole flamming thing. I wasn't trying to diss anyone, especially Justin. Just trying to give some constructive criticism. I wouldn't call anyone who did a 3S-GTE engine swap a rice boy. He's done exactly what I want to do in terms of the swap. Also, props to Justin for taking a chance and starting the company because catering towards a small niche market is risky business. I'm all for his company doing what it does.
You're right that names don't really matter if the products are good. That's fine and good. All I'm trying to say is that the name doesn't necessary convey the right message. For example, here in Canada, we have a trucking company called "Fluke Transport". Their slogan is "if it's on time, it's a Fluke". Well, whatever works.
As for people not knowing me and not knowing what I'm about, that's cool. I have no insecurity about that. I'm not going to start shooting off the things I do.
Lastly, although Justin hasn't said anything about this, I want to apologize to him ahead of time for any ill feelings. As I said, it wasn't meant to be malicious or dissing him. If anything, I will answer to him personally, not to the SC3 guys who are offended on his behalf.
That's all from the "Jeff Shek Shrine".
