Throttle response.

I have a 93 le 2.2 4cyl
I want to increase the throttle response cause it's lame.
I already have a short ram intake and exhaust systems but the lag is killing me.
One suggestion which I already used and worked, was that I tighten up my throttle cable.
I guess after 14 yrs. there was a little slack in the cable.
If you have any suggestions I'd realy enjoy the added response.(lame as my throttle)

if u can can get the seafoam deep creep that would be really good...otherwise any kind of throttle body cleaner will work...yea open the flap and clean the butterfly valve real good...then after u r done cleaning run it...but it will be more difficult to start so u may have to give it gas

maybe some injectors as well...dirty old injectors could give a feeling of "lag" when the pedal is smashed.
