USA Replacement Tranny Manufacturers

I am debating whether to get my transmission rebuilt by a local shop or get a remanufactured one from Jasper. Is Jasper a good brand? Just wanted your guys opinion cause my transmission is toast

my other camry i had i change the tranny..
i had a local auto shop do it for just under 800
thats the tranny and labor included
i think it was a re-built one or one from a junked camry. i forgot where i got it...
but i havent had any problems with it since i changed it..

Jasper is a VERY well known and repsected name in remanufatured auto engines and trannies. I wouldn't hesitate. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

WOW, called jasper yesterday...they want $2640 and that's plus installation. A remaned unit from Toyota is $2500. This had better be one hell if a tranny for that much $$. I think I am going to go to a local shop. I went to three of them, they all seemed very shady. How do you feel about an ATRA certified shop. Does that certfication really mean much, or is it just a name?


On a sidenote...the tranny went after only 116K miles, seems like low mileage for a Toyota

mine went first at around 120K (ish), replaced w/ a used one ( i never knew milage, father bought it), and that went out at 140K....biatch! i do like the look of the site i posted above...they rebuild them.
