lol...well, that's an in-dash...it's usually the best place to have one, except that it's kind of too low. Personally I'd rather have a flip-up one as well, purely just because theives are after them and can see the double-din style too easily

Mine is usually in my crotch. The suction cup sometimes just lets go and on the way down, the GPS bounces off the steering wheel which sends it into my crotch. Not a pleasant surprise while driving.
My Proclip mounts for my hybrid should get here tomorrow. I'll still have to use the suction cup when driving the old Camry though.

beleive it or not its not that far south on the dash, unless your 6'5 pegging the roof your ok, i can see the screen and comfortably navigate while driving. as for the theifs its not really an issue for me as i have 2 alarms and my car sleeps in a garage at night, at school or work i park under security cameras, besides that, with anything after market you always have to watch out, i saw some1 on the forum here had a covering for their double din, it make it look like an OEM compartment that pops off when you need to use it all illusional but it looks really like an OEM compartment...ive been thinking about getting that.

^ I like to think that it's more like a cockpit than anything else....lol. and I don't even show my 7" flip-up and stereo in that pic either....
and I got all those gauges as boost-prep- all practical and much needed when you're going FI - vacuum/boost, a/f, oil pressure, oil temp, transmission temp
it takes awhile to get used to, but it's saved my ass a number of times
