yeah go figure right. the cai would give u a little more hp, 5 whp at the most and thats a guess. but the cost for the AEM CAI is like 230. not worth it in my book, i built mine and it does the job just fine

If I was capable of building my own I'd certainly do so, but I'd definitely screw up one way or another, haha. I'm not sure if AEM makes a CAI for my car...
SRI and CAI do not really do anything. It's all for looks and sound. I'm planing to make my own custom CAI that will not be louder then stock, look OEM, and may actually have some gains. I;d say put the $ elsewhere.

5 Lug Corolla WHAT?
I finally found the CAI, they had it listed under a different motor, which is actually the same motor. Interesting. I've been asking myself if it's worth the $250 for the little hp it gives, you guys are probably right, about it being more about sound than anything. I don't think I want my Camry to sound like that, it's awesome on other cars, just not a stock camry.
I actually know someone with a Gen 4.0 I4 engine that said after he put on an SRI, He got more power, then after like 10 mins, he said it lost power once the car adjusted for it.

but by the same token, considering how little there is available for our engine, you may have to pay for it if you can't make your own or get a shop to do it for you.
and 5whp? not even close. probably about 1whp. 5whp if you've got boost.

Yeah if I were you I would spend my money on something else. The only reason I got that CAI for my car is because I got it really cheap and I thought what the heck, why not.

Yeah, time to scratch the intake. Thanks for the advice guys.
good plan, thre are a few other things you can do to the airbox to get that sound that costs...well nothing. i did notice a little differance when i built mine, but im bettin that if i had just put in a highflow filter into the stock airbox that it would have been exactly the same.
