So I took my ACIS valve out, and cleaned it. Cleaned it good.

Problem is, I don't see anyhting that needs grinding. It all looks smooth to me. Its funny how after reading all 11 pages of the other thread, that I still don't know what needs grinding.
Anyway, while I was at it, I thought I'd spray a load of carby cleaner into my intake manifold...

Yeah, I know. It still looks like crap. which leads me to my next question, as stupid as it may be...
Can I just spray carby cleaner into my brake booster line while the engine's running? Yeah, it sucks. We don't have Seafoam around here.
I haven't given it a test drive since cleaning it out, so I don't know if it will make any noticable difference in performance...
Yea i did the mod too like a month back. Do you have a pic of after the grinding? or did you just polish it up? And yea mine was just as bad if not worse.
EDIT: I see you didnt grind it lol, lemme outline it for you.

Take the throttlebody off & grind the dividor out.
Take a flap wheel sanding disk & run it down the inside of everything you can reach, top & bottom ports also.

Thank you. Now in English? Is this the equivalent of the Mass Air Flow sensor or Thottle Body or even the Idle Air Control Valve? I know what those are but not the ACIS.
the mass airf flow, throttle body and idle air control are all seprate things, but all have to do with inductions, as does the ACIS, its part of the intake plenum after the throttle body.
From the other thread says, you gind down the edges around the hole, making a smoother beveled surface. This causes less turbulence in the airflow and therefore a slight increase in power. I'm guessing its most effective at low RPM, and not in WOT, cause that's when the valve is actually open... But don't quote me on that. Its just what i'm led to believe.
Anyway, I haven't got around to it yet. had to work too much lately. But when I'm done, I'll post another pic of the valve after grinding.
And Toysrme, I'm not sure I'd wanna go as far as to grind the divider out and stuff. I thought I had enough guts just taking off the ACIS Valve.
