hey guys, im gettin my tax return soon and i was planning on investing in some new wheels to replace my 16's. i was lookin to get 17's so i dont go any lower then a 45 sidewall. im torn between black with silver lip to match the SE accents or just stick with silver. what do yall think? also, i read the whole offset thread and wanted to know what yall think is the best offset for the gen3? i know its my perferance that counts, but outside opinions help me decide when i cant on my own.
i think black with a silver lip would look awesome- especially with the black lip you have. I am running 42 offset and I think it looks pretty good IMO
lol, before I went and got the exact same wheels you have now (purely coincidence) I looked at a lot of different 17's, mostly black with chrome/silver lip. Two things i found out; one, for some reason, with the contrast between lip and wheel (silver and black) made them look smaller for some reason. And two, the more I looked for those types of rims, I noticed how most 'riced-out' saturns, hondas, kias, etc. were running those style of wheels, and the last thing I want to do is be associated with them
But to each their own. I personally like the style you're looking at, and it will probably look good with your car's color.

well i think its black and chrome/silver. ur right about the smaller perception the black wheel gives renmike, thats part of the reason i couldnt decide but i think thell look good with the colors i have now. id like to go 18 but tires are expensive and i have seen the diffeance between a 45 and a 40 side wall where i live and to many people have blown tires with a really agressive sidewall, not that 45 wont but theres less of a chance. im prolly also gonna get the HKS DLI and try that out, im gonna change the Y-pipe and exhaust when i do the 97+ engine swap and maby get the S/C. for now the rest goes to the El Camino.

dam you i wanna get the HKS DLI.. you cant get it is mine... hahaha J/K
i can make up my mind on 17 or 18 either..
im leaning more towrads 17's cuz i think the tires and cheaper and buying the rims are cheaper to.. places i seen charge and extra 20 to 80 bucks for that extra inch (18 rims)
ill have to see when i get the new ones which could be a couple weeks out. if i do ill put it in the FS section cuz ive already gotten a couple bids on them just from this post, ill let ya know.
