almost ALL intakes(CAI, SRI and brand name) will do the same thing...not much of anything. the most ud get out of it is sound(real nice) and maby 1hp, as long as its a highflow filter they will all do the same. there VERY easy and the cheapest one will do the same as a big brand name. the cheapest way to do it though is to just do it ur self. but that reactive one will work fine.
read the faq, and use the search function. almost every question ur gonna have has been discussed before and if the searches cant awnser it the way u want, then at least it will let u be more specific in ur asking. hope this helps and welcome to TN.
p.s. if u havnt already, post in the gen3 sign in thread and put up some pics.
ive been searching the forums for a bit this morning and it was hard to find specific companies that sell CAI's or Ram Air intakes [difference?] ... the only company i found is Ractive, and thats about $100 for the part itself, and i would install it myself since it doesnt require anything other than detaching the air filter/tube and installing the CAI
do you have any suggestions on specific brand names that will fit without modifying the body/frame/etc?
is there a big difference between SRI and CAI? ... will either give me an efficiency boost/decrease, HP boost, or nicer sound?
Not much, a SRI just sits in the engine bay basically sucking in hot air. While a CAI sits lower in the engine bay usually behind the driverside headlight or in the wheel well drawing in cooler air. But like most will tell you your stock airbox is already a CAI in a sense so a better "drop in" filter would be a better. But to answer your question it does sound better then stock or a SRI.
