4th Generation Help! Short Shifter Install

The short shifter didn't come with instructions, and I've made it this far by going off old posts here and the guide on twm's site, which says its for a solara/camry, but the pics are from a corolla, and the setup is a bit different.

I've almost got the stock shifter out of place, I got the two bottom clips and the pin on top out. But now there is a 'cap' (circled in red) which is hinged (circled in yellow), and I cant see where to go from here. Can anyone let me know what the next step is? Do I have to remove that hinge somehow? The second pic shows how far I can move the shifter.

Hey Bob, I have same TWM shifter installed in my 2001 Camry. The hinge in the yellow needs to come out in order to take out the oem shifter. It is going to be a pain in the ass to push out, just get something really skinny (not flimsy) and a wrench to push it out.
