im new here but im on some other board and i just never got into the forums until now....i own a 96 camry coupe and am looking for parts...mostly engine...also any parts that would fit from a solara...can someone help? i know where to get turbos so don't recomend that give me the parts that are hard to find
ebay and the for sale section. Learn a bit about engines as what ASG14 said, thats what im doing slowly, but most of your questions most likely might have been asked before...so search the forums, google, still have questions then post up questions. The TN family will be here to answer questions.

umm first off, im going to school to study automotive...so ASG14 , i don't need your crap. second, i know plenty...i jusy can't find parts...how does not knowing how to find parts for an engine/car that did not have that many parts made for it mean i don't know about cars....and no, if you were really smart you would stay away from dealerships cause 1) they over price and 2) they can't get you everything you need, i have tried.
for those of you who said ebay...thats where i have gotten a few parts for my car already, but they don't got much...its a lucky find if you check on the right day
I wouldn't give Adam any crap (ASG14) He could provide lots of help to you in the future!....If he likes ya!!....Not a good way to start you first post!

sorry i guess i did forget to say what engine.i got a shitty 4... well what i need??? aftermarket engine parts....parts to give me more power, i know its vague but i don't know what they got out there for this car, i have looked everywhere....as of right now im just looking for the places to get them cause i am broke...with the solara...im on another board and people i have talked to tell me just about parts to help with handling from the solara. i didn't know if there were engine parts that worked also.
The only things I can think of are:
Ripp Headers (if you are luckey enough to locate one) or Ripp SC for the 5SFE I4 (Your Engine). Most other stuff is not much power. You can always do little things that will add up. Make a custom Cold Air Intake (aftermarket ones do not add any real power), full exhaust (including the headers), remove the Intake and Throttle Body and completely clean them, as they get really, really dirty, and that alone can get you a few HP back, and maybe a tad better mpg.
The Ripp items will once in a blue moon appear here in the FS section, as well as on the FS section on Solaraguy forums. Also, they pop on ebay now and again.
You can also find a specialist in Car Tuning and have your ECU tuned for probably 15HP without much of a compromise to reliability.
There really is not much out there, so most of us go custom. BUT, for suspension, some of the '97-'01 Camry/'99-'03 Solara suspension stuff will work, such as the TRD Rear Sway Bar. Whiteline makes some items as well. Raptor in the Group Buy section here on TN has good prices on them, and is a GREAT person to deal with, as I;ce done it before, and he only gets praise. For brakes, if you have rear Drum, I'd say to swap it to Disc's, for some better stopping at very high speeds. I think my friend here has a complete setup for it that he never got to install on his car.
Also, don't forget about taking corners. Tires make a big difference there.
Hope this helps a little. I know it is more then you asked for though.
