93 v-6 auto transmission shot???

So, its been a long time coming i'm sure. It's never been like this before, at first i thought it was lack of hydraulic pressure from being cold but definately not. It has a lot of trouble getting into gear, i could be doing 4000 RPM in first and doing 15 MPH. It makes a very jerky grinding reaction a lot in transition of gears as well. Best described as if you were driving a manual and let the clutch out too much too quick and it shudders and grinds it feels before it actually gets into the gear. Any ideas what would cause this, is it done for? Is it even worth fixing?

the moment an automatic transmission starts to slip, it starts causing irrversible damage. slipping could be caused by a few things. as simple as a low fluid level (due to leakage) or a faulty solenoid. how long has it been doing this? might be easier/cheaper to get a 2nd hand transmission than getting yours repaired.

welcome to the dying/dead trans club!

it sucks, the common practice - cheapest, is to get a used trans, check www.car-part.com for ideas, milage is a big factor on weather you get junk or go!
