Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
do it and tell us labor is cheap in Puerto Rico, no?
and I would think that you would also need the tranny and all wiring. plus custom mounts. the chassis from the gen6 to the gen3/4 is pretty different....
so long story short....I think that it would probably cost the same as a 3sgte swap...so probably not worth it

Lot more then a 3SGTE King.
The 2GR has throttle by wire, lot more eletronics there. Need a custom wire harness (usually a few hundred $), you need to FIND the Engine and Tranny, which is still new, so your looking at over $2k JUST for that. But to do it right, you need the wntire pars car for the eletronics.

There are ways around it, remapping the microsoft servers, stopping the service, using a firewall. But what I personally do is close my curtains, wrap my computer in tin foil and yell "BRING IT ON" over and over again. -Drunken_panda
^ I disagree. The 2GR is probably going to be better than the 3S. They might be able to develop the same amount of power and torque, but the 2GR, due to aluminum construction, will probably weigh less than the 3SGTE which is cast iron.

:
worste idea ever.
considering that a stock 3sgte can put down to the wheels what the 2gr has to the flywheel....no way. And the potential of a high commpression N/A engine compared to a built from factory turbocharged engine....no comparison.
and the lack of a mating manual transmission to the 2gr cinches the deal to a definate no if a real comparison is to be made.

i honestly wouldnt even consider it an option, its just not a good idea, there are several ways to get the high hp out of the camry and a 2gr swap should not be considered one of them. 3sgte, turbo 1mz, s/c 97+ 1mz or turbo 5sfe. thoes are the best options. since u have the gen 4 1mz, go for the S/C, ull prolly be able to keep up with an 07 camry with that.
