Max Rim and Tire size

What would be the maximum rim size I could put on a camry v6, without lowering, all stock.

Would 18's be safe? So if I go with 18's which tire size can I go with, and also how wide can the tire be? Also just in cast if I would lower the car after would the rims still fit?

If I lower the car 1.7" Will I have to do anything to the suspension to have the wheels run straight, I mean not on an angle (/)---(\) << Like that. If i only but the lowering springs do i also have to change the shocks?

If anyone could answer my questions?

Thank you

i have 215/45/18 rims and tires with a 35+ offset on my 99 camry and i have no problems with fitment. im not sure about lowering tho. some poepl on this forum have 20s but thier tires are really thin and would probably sacrifice alot of ride comfortability

18s would look good lowered or stock and u should get an alignment after u lower it, i have a 2"drop about and didnt need camber plates, just an alignment. if u leave it stock u could do almost any size wheel but anything above an 18 is a waste.

u dont want to goto the max, it starts to look really cheesy - a nicer pair of well-fitted rims will make your car look the best

i would say 16" or 17" rims ... and the sidewalls, etc. is basically up to the limits of your car

Sorry to thread jack, but what is the max width tire you could fit? 245/35/18 be to wide? He said he beleives the rims are about 10" wide. :/ That's just a guess though, I'm trying to get him by to actually measure them.

I agree with Venom, I personally dont like cars that have rims practically up to the sidewall, but rather a slightly larger then stock look, so it doesnt look cheesy, and still looks presentable (not rice-like).

I realize you want to know the max and not everyones opinion. With a ridiculous amount of searching to find this information(which isnt much) I will supply you with what I do have.

You can go as large as 20's if you want, it is all about having the proper offset to make this work. If your offset is to low, say + 50, you may not even be able to put the wheel on the hub to bolt it on. The wheel/tire would hit the strut and it just wouldnt work.

Now, if you go with a higher offset like +35, you can fit many wheels up to 20's on there.

I will tell you what I have found to be a comfortable(within reason) size wheel and tire for the camry from 97-01.

18's for example will fit, but only if the rim is 7 or 7.5 inches wide and the offset is between say +35 to +42, 42 is questionable, so +40 would be more where you would want to be.

That applies to any of the other size wheels. You get to wide and the offest to low, you will not even be able to put them on. Or if your offset is to high, you may get the 8 inch wide rims to fit but the outer wall of the tire will rub on your fender.

Keep searching and reading. Here is a thread that will help you some, but You may gain more info from my post, either way, read up, it will help.

Lets Talk offsets !!! my friends
