4th Generation Running rough...

Guys help me out, my 4 cyl Camry was giving me troubles for a while now...

This morning, going to work it started acting weired... I can spin the engine in neutral without problems, but with a gear in, whenever I try to accelerate, pushing gas pedal just don't do anything - it's hesitating and jerks from time to time... No CEL codes...

I just went through the clutch-change, maybe there is something i've knocked of... but it has been almost 2 days since...

B.t.w. it's really cold today, -15dec C... and i'm 10 mins away from work... the car started hesitating just about when it got really warm...

And the possible causes i found through the search:

1. Restricted air filter
2. Faulty MFI/SFI systems
• Faulty pressure regulator
• Clogged fuel return line
• Defective engine coolant temp. sensor
• Defective intake air temp. sensor
• Faulty ECM
• Faulty injector
• Faulty throttle position sensor
• MAP sensor

I feel like it's about time to trade her in...

During the lunch I went to check it out and I couldn't replicate the problem... Got the car warmed up... accelerated really hard - no hesitation what so ever... WTF? I have an 800 miles trip this weekend and i really have no trust in my Camry...

If the engine is revving up with no problem, but it isn't transfering the power to the wheels, then it sounds like there may be a problem with your clutch job.

I don't know if this would happen on a camry, but I used to have a ford and when the timing belt snapped, the engine acted normal, but the car wouldn't move.

I've also heard that there is a slight break in period for new clutches, like 500 miles. I'm still unsure as to when you are having a problem, but if your trip is only a few days away, you may want to consider a rental or getting a mechanic's advice if you don't feel like breaking in the clutch on the trip.

before you leave for work again, try letting the car run for 5 min.

i believe it could be your sensor. I had the same problem you have right now. I brought it into the shop and they fixed the sensor.. now it runs fine with no problem.

Well, to clarify things, i was able to rev it up in neutral and with the clutch desingaged but whenever i've tried to move the car with it wouldn't reve at all or jerk... Felt a bit like clogged injectors... However, I was unable to replicate the problem so far. I've spent a few hours on the car after the work, changed the fuel filter, discovered that i've fuc#ed up a drive-shaft seal, checked the fuel pump, checked most obvious sensors... Found nothing, nor I had the hesitation problem on my way home...

well have you checked the senor which operates how much accerleration your giving to your car? so it will open the valve to let the air into the engine
