97 Camry Rattling and Clicking noises

well i have a 97 camry 4 cylinder and it was handed down to me from my grandparents about a year and a half i think (finally got my license yesterday so its mine now) and ive had a rattle in the engine on the passenger side and its been happening for a while cause it just sounds like somethings loose...it really only does it at idle

and now i have a clicking from the passenger side and it only happens when im making a semi-sharp to sharp turn and it also only does it when im giving it a little more gas....but it really only does it when im straighting out from the turn

any suggestions what it might be?

my parents are going to take it in for me at some point the rattling isnt to worring to me but this clicking is startin to worry me

i could be wrong but i heard that clicking in the front when your turning means your axle needs replacing and the noise you said is coming from the pass. side so it's the pass. side axle you need.

Yes, take that in.

That clicking is most likely a dry CV Joint. Under most cases this requires that the axle be replaced.

If you continue to drive with a dry CV jount, your steering will edventally lock up.

The rattle in the engine at idle, could be the Timing Belt tensioner!...the other is more likely the CV joint!

yea the car is in the shop right now and i hope they just fix it, and fix it right

oh and on the rattling noises when i started the car up a few days ago just to move it, it did the normal start up with the 1600 idle cause the engine was still cold, the engine was rattling but when i put it into drive it started rattling so its mainly more noticable when the engine is warming up and in drive

To fix the timing belt tensioner, you might as well replace the timing belt and the water pump...It'll keep ya from doing it later!

im the yougest in my family so ill also learn the lessons from my bros...my oldest bro had a gen 3 camry that USED to look like this but he's in college now and its falling apart, hes raced it in autoX and has recked it pretty good and now its all startin to catch up now that hes not taking a whole lot of care of it

my middle bro had to buy his car though he didnt get a hand down car from my grandparents like me and my oldest bro did so he got a 150K mile integra GSR and hes raced it but never really drove it hard daily like my other bro did a lot so its still running good so i hope my car will be even better when i get to college
