Difference between 99 and 00/01 headlights

I'm fairly new to the Gen4's, which I hope to be getting very soon. The current headlights are a bit fogged up so I want to get new ones, but I was looking at the 00/01 models and they look much nicer, as well as having daytime running lights, correct?

So my question is, what kind of modifications need to be done to fit an 00/01 headlight into a 99 Camry?

There are two main ways to make 4.5 lights fit gen 4 camrys. One is replacing fenders, bumpers, etc with gen 4.5 ones. Other is a bit of cutting and bending to get them to fit while keeping your reg parts. There is a diy for the second one just search for it

Thanks guys, and i always forget about the search feature, lol.

And I wouldnt want to replace the fender or grill, so I may just get the 4.5's and see if I can retrofit them in somehow.

Really? Do you have to change them from behind the light or do you remove the plastic lens and remove it from there?

Both fog lights work, but one is alot brighter then the other, and I'd rather buy some new ones that match and if possible, get ones that are a bit more whitish.

You need to first remove the plastic bezel around them (it's not part of the bumper). Then you remove the light from the bumper to change the bulb.

Well, that was the only way that I could get to them.

Gen 4-4.5 never had "factory" fogs. THere are dealer installed fogs and they are not hard to change. But kind of hard to get at.

You reach back and grab the back of the housing and twist clockwise 10-15 degrees. THen pull back and the back will come off with teh bulbs cable attached. Pull off the cable and decompress the spring holding the bulb in (almost the same spring as gen 4 headlight bulbs. Pull the bulb out and you are bulbless.

It may seem like taking the housing off is easier but I disagree. Plus one of the screws is part of the adjustment.

I have seen H3 led bulbs on ebay and am curious how they are.
