8 year factory warranty?

Hi, I have a '99 and I just got a "final warranty notice" in the mail from one of those companies that tries to sell extended warranties. They usually do this when a factory warranty is about to expire. Did the '99 come with a factory 8 yr warranty?

power train: 5yr/60,000mi, factory warranty: 3yr/36,000mi

source: http://www.warrantyhelper.com/fwc_toyota.html

they might as well have done an 8 year warranty, at least on power train, their sales would have been close to doubled with a warranty even close that good. but 20/20 hind sight right?

Your model falls under the "sludge" issue warranty. Even though you don't have sludge, Toyota extended the engine warranty to 8 years. Your cat/emission warranty is also 8 years by Federal mandate.

THanks! So, if the engine had a different problem, would Toyota cover that or only the sludge issue? Guess I should call the dealer.
