3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Ok so today I was cleaning the Camry and decided to take off the wind deflector that has been on the car since it was ordered way back in June 2000. So here is the question guys, do you think it looks better off or on? I personally think the car looks cleaner with it off, but the real test will be tomorrow when i'm driving to see if there is much more noise. Because if there is, I'm putting it back on reguardless! Thanks.

I've always debated whether it looks better or not. From some angles (mainly the front or from the angle you have in the pic above), it looks better on, but from the back it doesnt look too good.
I would base it on the amount of noise you hear with it off, and see if its worth leaving it off or not.

Yeah i'm going to test how loud it is tomorrow when i'm driving to school. But for some reason, the Black LE V6 your looking at looks much better than mine with it off. I don't really like the color of my car because it looks odd in pictures, but it looks a whole lot better in person. But yeah, jump on that Camry!

its almost to insignificant to notice but id leave it off, look cleaner and classier with that two tone. if ya painted it to match the car that might look pretty damn good too.
So I'm driving down the road today around 60mph, and I notice the car is actually quieter! I was completely shocked, so I have decided to leave it off. However, now I have a nasty line where the rubber was against the paint. Will need to touch that up.

Let me ask a really dumb question... did you have the sunroof open?
Haha...yeah the sunroof was open. I always thought the things blocked the wind, but I think it actually makes it louder. I don't know, but its staying off.

I see. Does it help keep the air from rushing in when you have it opened? I always get mad when someone lowers the sunroof and it screws up my hair...
The deflector is for the back seat passengers! Did you try the "tilt" to see if it was quiter in that mode too?.....I think people have them to let other people know, they have a SR!! LOL
