3rd Generation Removing Cigarette lighter from dash?

My Cigarette lighter suddenly stopped working. It wont charge my phone or heat up. How do I remove the cigarette lighter from the dash?

Just use a flathead to pop out the U shaped trim around your radio. You then have two options. Either replace it with a new one from the dealership, or if you're real handy, you can take a multimeter to it and figure out where it's stopped conducting and lay down some solder (which is what I did to fix mine when it stopped working). It turned out on my car that there was a washer that was acting as a spacer, but had rusted to the point of being unable to conduct the electricity.

IM not joking, Stick your thumb into the ciggerette lighter and pull out, work like a charm. What you want to do is take apart the nut on teh back of the ciggeretter and remove the flimsy bronze color washer then reassemble. Make sure you note how the lighter is put together, it was a puzzle for me.
