3rd Generation Replacing Resonator With HotDog

Hi every1, im new to this forum, so hello to all. Anywai i have a 1996 Gen 3 v6 5speed manual Camry. GR8 CAR recently installed a maganflow catback exhaust system and it now sounds amazing. My Mechanic told my i can replace the resonator with a hotdog pipe. What are your thoughts on replacing the resonator as i dnt know much bout the advantages or disadvantages regarding the resonator. Any Comments will be appreciated. Thx

Cool

Your mechanic sucks.
The resonator doesn't cause any power loss, and ontop of that un-resonated engines sound like shit.
Lotta things you can do on this engine, search plz, it's been covered alot previously.
(You have a 3vz-fe)

I agree with Toys on this one.....BUT, if you have a 96, then you have a 1MZ-FE engine.....

I have a Magnaflow muffler with no resonator right now. Before, I had the muffler and stock resonator but it was too quiet. Now it sounds a bit louder than normal and a little raspy but I like the sound better than before. If you don't like the raspiness, just leave the resonator.
