4th Generation Hey Everybody

Hey everyone,
I just got my first Camry yesterday. Its a 98 v6 LE Camry only 60k miles. Its in good condition and I got a heck of a deal on it. It tan on tan. I was suprised the v6 is pretty fast. It is completly stock right now. The first thing I want to do is tint windows. Any other ideas on exterior mods? I also want to get a little more power from the engine. What mods are the best bang for my buck? Thanks guys and I look forward to being a member.

well hello, and welcome to TN. first of all we all will recomend using the search function. but ill help ya get started.

1. read the FAQ section
2. the best upgrade for your car is the TRD supercharger if u can ever find one and afford it.
3. search for toysrme's threads on cheap/free mods.
4. free mod for the V6: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t45066.html
5. like i said, search. there is alot to do to the car; suspension, engine, wheels and tires, stero, bodykits, lights and weight reduction. while some of it is custom fab, its all been covered.
6. make a list of the things u want, then investigate them here, if u still have questions make specific posts, that helps in anwsering.

agian, welcome to TN.

Welcome to the nation... To start off you could just get a Short Ram Inkake... I personally prefer it over the Cold air intake... Because one if u have the cold air intake you run the risk of sucking up water, although you get more HP with the cold air... Plus i think the short ram looks better when you pop the hood

You got a manual or a automatic?

same...if you get a

cold air intake 1)around $200 2)if water splashes through a vent where your intake is installed, your screwed 3)sounds great

short ram 1)cheaper around $100 or ebay ~ $60 2)easier to install 3)price is great for just the sound which means not much of a HP gain

also, if you haven't already, check your oil if its dirty then change it since it is a used car

tinting is a good mod for starting.
for exterior mods i reccommend changing your low beams to sylvania silverstars or something better for a good vision of the road
also you can adjust your headlights after you installed the bulb if your headlights right now are aimed too low

Look up your state's tint law, don't want to be pulled over for dark ass tints and you didn't know about it, also with too dark of a tint makes somewhat hard to see in the nighttime when backing up that's all.

Well to answer your question there are many sites with Camy parts its just not always easy to find what you're looking for. Just Google and search.

For the SRI checkout: http://www.cosmoracing.com/ ... I'm going to order mine from them... Alot of ebay intakes the air sensor does not have anything to keep it the intake alot of ppl end up taping it... I emailed them and they say they do...

For the tints i have 14% all around except for the rear glass which is 20... I wouldnt go any higher than 20 unless u want them really light... If u want them dark around 14... if u want them light around 20... If u want barely any tint get like 30 40 something... As for the laws... Aslong as u dont go limo (5%) you shouldnt really have too much trouble

perosnally 20% was too dark for me and the cops thought so too and gave me a ticket to remind me also, ohh how nice of them. I'm getting tints again but with 35% all around but it's still not legal ohh well. Any tint would be better than no tints at all.
