Hey guys, as many of you know I installed my CAI a few months ago. My question is can I extend the pipe into the bumper another few inches so the filter doesnt hit the support beam behind the fender. Because the beam hits the filter and its very difficult to get the filter on all the way. In order to fix this I plan on putting on another clamp and a short piece of pipe to extend the original pipe by 5 inches or more. This way getting the filter on and off will be a much easier task.
why not consider a different place under the hood ... somewhere not so close to the ground?
i know that would be a pain since u already did so much work, but if i put an air filter on my car that low here in TN, it might as well be inside a pool with the rain we get

if your worried about water that much, u can find a way to extend the piping and use the bypass valve with it so when water gets in, ur bypass valve will take care of it.
if in ohio, the weather isn't very bad with deep puddles all the time, then you shouldn't worry too much about extending ur cai.
i'm sure someone here has some idea on what u can use to extend the cai ?
Thanks for the input guys, I guess I shouldn't be worried that much. I've heard that to suck up any water, your filter has to be pretty much submerged.

yea! I have a CAI and the filter is located in the bumper (underneath the left headlight). make sure the pipings are properly held down to the car.

yup. u pretty much have the idea =]
do it. if ur engine chokes one day because of ur filter submerging in water (very very unlikely), then just buy a bypass valve.
simple eh ? =P
Thanks again for the input, I actully just got done doing it and it came out great but it hits the fender a little, but its no big deal. I also have one more question, after installing it I tried to start the engine, but I forgot to plug the MAF back in and the engine died. After realizing my mistake I plugged it back in but now the check engine light is on. Now, will it go away on its own or should I disconnect the battery.
