96' I4 2.2 engine in a 94' wagon engine swap. Will it work?

I have located a 96' camry auto sedan engine that I am thinking about putting in a 94' LE auto wagon. Both are 2.2L. Are these compatible? The salvage yard in another state will sell me the 96' engine with 44000 "carfax certified" miles for 800$. It was hit in the rear. Does this sound like a good deal?

The 96 engines have different emissions equipment and have 5 fewer horsepower. I want an engine that "bolts right up" hassle free.

Since someone is going to answer this engine question, and the search facility returns nothing, can someone also tell me whether there is any difference in the amount of work involved to get a SHOP to fit a
3MZE from a 5sfe (e.g. is the transmission different, or any of the bolts etc)?

Otherwise when my engine dies I'll just get a secon hand 5sfe (mine is full of sludge, and has 250 000kms on it... doubt it will last very long)
