She's done i think, saying goodbye, offering for parts/project (a few pics were added
Well, she had a good run, but my 220,000 mile 93 V-6 tranny is pretty much shot (i think, probably torque converter or something), i just fixed a 94 blazer i had at home and am using that for now. This saddens me deeply because of all the work i put into this car and after only about 10000 miles of use on the new engine i have to give it up. Like to take the chance to say thanks to all who have helped in the past. I'm about to post it up as a parts car or project car in the for sale section of the site soon. It may not happen for a couple days to put it up but for those who are in a frantic search for parts or a project or maybe just interested, here's a short tid bit of info:
-tanny could be easily fixable i don't know much about auto's, i did NOT take it to a mechanic to be checked out i pretty much just said screw it cause im at school and needed something right away.
-3vz-fe (rare now a days): full rebuild about 10000 miles ago with rough port'n'polish, very clean still; runs flawlessly in all weather/conditions, needs the valves shimmed (because of this there is probably a fair amount of low end loss and some top end loss but the PnP helps solve that in the mean time); front valve cover corner cracked. <---this would be a great, newly revived engine to use in your own car as a replacement or upgrade from I4
-body condition: not great at all
-Full size spare, tires on front (sumitomos) have about 8/32 left of tread which is still pretty damn good, rears i actually have some MKIII supra wheels on (id like to replace with stock if possible)
-Hi flow Cat back full 2.5" custom exhaust with Aeroturbine muffler (no resonator)
Enough about that though, thanks for all the help from he community during the rebuild and if you're looking for a parts car or something along those lines either check the for sale section in a day or two or PM me now if you want more info/detail
Im sorry to hear that. I know what It feels like to spend so much time on a car you love and have it just give up on you. Im still rebuilding the motor on my Talon. Lets hope that goes well

Bummer.. Hopefully you can join the Camry family again at a later time. Did the gen 2 Camrys have a falling out like this?? Seems like every time I browse the gen 3/4 forum, another gen 3 owner is saying goodbye.
I saw a gen 3.5 coupe this morning in awesome shape. I really like the gen 3 Camrys.. My mom's 95 1MZ has got 78.5K miles so I'm hoping it'll last for a good while more.
Good luck with your next car!

If you have a lift.
There's not much different than pulling both out the top & unmating them. Just think of it as the perfect time to change your $20 main seals.

let me know if you decide to sell, I could probably use it to revive my girlfriends 92 V6 with 230K on it. Just got word back on a blown head/gasket, plus needs some general TLC.

Well im definately leaning towards selling right now, im just sorting through last minute options. Where in virginia are you, currently my car is sitting in front of my apartment in Morgantown, WV
I hope you decide to fix that, because your car will run for a century once you fix everything... don't get let down just because of one big thing going wrong! My parents could have totalled my camry out when i got in my accident last october, but i convinced them that getting another car would cost wayy more in the long run because of certain unknowns. Just stick with it and you will be rewarded in spades.

I travel regularly, looks like your about 5 hours away, not bad. If I'm willing to travel will be determined by cost of the car and amount of useable parts. Do you have pics and a list of whats wrong with it, as well as a price in mind, please let me know, and I'd like pics if possible so I can tell if there's body parts I can use also. Thanks

i know man, i've just been through a lot with this car, i just keep dropping money and once it becomes stable and i thinks its all good with its new engine and such then the tranny goes. Ive been through transmission hell with my last car (a 91 prizm, which is toyota too at the time) and im just taking this as a sign. it sucks but i cant work on it here at school and can't transport it to my home
*Rich - ill get pics asap, its easter right now so im kind of busy lately. what body parts were you thinking about? ill give you an idea now. Whats wrong with it more in depth:
-body is not very useable unfortunately due to its past users (ie. my step dad's ex-wife, my brother and sister), ive only ever put one dent in it because i dropped a small air compessor on the hood (woops)
-A/C is lose and is missing a bracket i believe, but stable, ive been using the car for 10000miles with no issues (this is something you can pull straight off your old engine, freon is empty currently)
-Intake plenum, rear, support bar is not available, it was lost during rebuild (a part you can pull from your old engine easily)
-A corner on the front (oil fill side) valve cover was cracked when the bolts were torqued (don't know why its only like 10ft'lbs) (again you can replace with your old one easily.
-one coolant tube needs to be replaced, i put a new one on but it didnt handle the heat well. many of the others were replaced (very easily fixed)
-Intake air box was modified (this is not a problem just thought id mention it)
-Needs valve shim job, valves tap pretty loud after 220000 miles, i got a quote from a mechanic and its about 4hrs of labor at a shop.
-oil pan gasket needs to be replaced (this is simply because im stupid and put silicone on the gasket forgetting that oil penetrates silicone)
-front passenger side window cable broken, motor works perfect, its propped open from the inside
-interior has normal wear and tear including cracked front dash due to excessive heat/sun during summers
-My brother bought speakers for the car, that didnt fit so he decided to make them fit by cutting the place settings aroundthe speakers so consider those three interior panels unusable (what a dumb)
-Power steering needs to be tightened, it wouldn't be but im missing one of those nuts that rotate as you tighten, thats a very easy fix.
*keep in mind these are the negatives of the car, and i mention no positives so dont be scared, and keep in mind these are all very very easy fixes and anyone here can back me up on that one, especially when the engine is pulled
