3rd Generation Need a set of brake pipes. Cost?

I took my car for its MOT (annual safety check) and it failed. It needs some bulb adjustments (nothing really) and both rear brake pipes replacing as they have corroded.

The mechanic said he couldnt give a price to do the work as he couldnt get to the pipes to have a good look.

Does anyone know what kind of money it should cost to replace the pipes inc labour on a 1995 Camry?

Thanks

You mean the brake lines? The ones that lead to the calipers or the ones under the car? Both are cheap and shouldn't cost too much to fix. The lines leading tot he caliper are fairly easy to change and you can do it yourself.

The brake HOSES are made of rubber-like stuff and are the flexible hoses to the brakes. They're a snap to replace, i could change two of them in about an hour including bleeding.
The brake lines are the STEEL hard lines running underneath the car. You can buy these at the auto parts all made up with fittings. But if there are any bends in the lines, or they do not have your exact length avaialable, you will need special tools like tubing benders and flare nut tools. .
