92 v6 rev and stall

When I'm accelerating at low speeds (under 20), the engine accelerates, stalls, accelerates, stalls, etc causing the car to clunk back and forth. What does that usually mean?

Is it up to full operating temperature or right after you start it cold? How many miles are on the engine? How in to the throttle are you when this happens?

There is a lot of stuff on these cars and a quick description doesn't narrow the possible problems down much

it happens when I'm lightly tapping the gas and is a lot worse when the engine is cold. It's has about 175k on it and I'm hoping this is a relatively cheap fix.

Vacuum leak. Check the fuel pressure.
