Hey everyone, I got in an accident today. I came to a stop because two cars ahead of me got into a fender bender....a second later the car behind me hit me at approximately 25 miles per hour...atleast thats what the driver of the car said....I was kinda shocked because this was my first time ever being in an accident....anyhow...I asked the guy to pull into a street so we dont block traffic....I went to the back of my car to see what kind of damage had accured....to my surprise...not a scratch...no loose bumper..nothing...while the other guy who was driving a 2003 Saturn L300 had his hood all messed up...his grill broken...his front bumper bent....all I have to say is +1000000 kudos points for Camry's....btw I have a Black 1998 Camry V6 LE...I am okay...no neck problem what so ever....mostly because I braced myself when I saw in my rear view mirror that the car was coming an not slowing down or anything....so yeah...thats my story...glad I am okay...the car is okay...I just feel bad for the Saturn guy though...because he is going to pay a ticket and he got points on his license ....hopefully he will be more careful
yes I did get all his info down...in fact....he called the cops too....who took down all the info from both of us.....so yes....I will make sure everything is okay....because I checked everything myself...and I did not see anything.....but I am no expert....i will go to a collision center and have them check it thoroughly
camry's are tanks ... nobody knows it, but they can take a beating - im sure the guys here who have been hit are aware of that
I was going 35 MPH and hit a Ford F-150 and spun the truck about 90 degrees
My car was totaled, but I walked away. It didn't feel good walking around afterwards but I walked away.
You should definitely get your car checked out. The plastic bumper might bounce back after a hit, but there is some energy absorbing material under the plastic bumper cover that could be damaged. But I'm thinking that if you don't have a scratch, the guy hit the brakes causing the front end of his car to dive and go under your bumper.

definatly check out the car just to be safe. i witsh my old camry was that lucky. i was hit at a stop by a dumb *itch who was on her cell phone. 46mph is what got stuck on her spedo. i like dthat car too. RIP "green machine"
The rear ends of these things are invinsible. I rear-ended a Gen 3 in my "indestructable" Toyota pickup. I ended up with $2700 worth the damage and needing to get my trucks frame straightened. The Camry? Not scratch, not a dent. It was as if I'd never hit it! What the hell are these things made of, granite?

I had a '96 V6 that wasn't as lucky as you guys. I was rear ended by some chick in a geo!!! My whole trunk was smashed in. I believe she was going 35-40mph. I loved that car.
damn i dunno how you guys got so lucky... i got rearended by this asshat in a short bus in my 03... ended up with $8500+ in damages (after the collision, the bumper was literally dragging on the ground)... the trunk, the bumper, and the left quarter panel all had to be replaced... i dunno maybe the gen 4's are built with sturdier body parts who knows? oh and to the OP, make sure you get your car checked out at a collision center, at the other guy's expense of course... sometimes everything can look fine cosmetically, but there can be hidden damage underneath (ie suspension, frame damage, axles, etc)... make sure you straighten it all out...

The gen 3 (maybe gen 4 too?) have the best bumpers with the energy absorbing foam underneath. The gen 5+ have basically the bumper bar and the bumper cover as far as I know - which is why you see so many Camrys with bashed in corners.
We got rear-ended in my mom's Camry a few years ago. The guy was driving a Buick Century [rental] - the noise inside the cabin was horrifying but there was just a small dent on the bumper. I took it to a local shop and he lifted the carpet in the trunk to expose some bolts. One had shifted half an inch and he said that won't be a problem.
Anyway, glad you were okay. Get some rest.. We were fine but the next day I was really tired and had a heacache. But yeah, isn't it scary to KNOW that the guy behind you isn't going to stop?
