3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was the star attraction in the school parking lot today My shop teacher thought that the neighbors would call the fire department because of the smoke From now on I am seafoaming at every oil change, that was BAD.
seafoam is a liquid commonly used in automotive care to clean the car's fuel and engine systems of carbon build up. look for it in the automotive care liquids section of your local autozone or advanced auto parts, or any other car stuff place. many people have used it to "restore" life in their cars and have reported great success. i personally havent had time to use it on my engine, but i have used it in my fuel system and id say its good. the most common application is via the vacuum line. used the search feature to look up DIY stories and FAQs about seafoam.
btw....why the heck would u be doing seafoam in the school's parking lot???
the coolest crap ever. add it to your gas tank like fuel injector cleaner, add it to your vaccum lines to clean out virtually everything in your fuel system, or add to you crankcase to free up sticky lifters. With the exception of in your gas tank it'll smoke as it blows out everything. see this video for example http://www.video.csramotorsports.com...7800a6c96c.htm
I've used it before, but I'm curious whether the stuff coming out is engine crud or just the oil in Seafoam burning off.
Im guessing it's a bit of both, because when I tried it for the first time there was alot of smoke, but then I did it again about 50-100 miles later since I had 1/3 can left and there was barely any smoke.
How should I go about getting Seafoam in a 5sfe, brake booster? Vacuum line?

I bought 2 cans of Seafoam and I haven't had a chance to try it out. Hopefully it'll clean out all the crap in my Camry since it has 180k miles. The Altima has 118k miles.
no need to seafoam at every oil change. 15,000 miles is plenty to me.
and always do it before an oil change, not after.
haha last year, my friends and i were going to seafoam our cars in a line at our highschool parking lot, but decided not to. I mean its the best place to do it...lol
Next time I'll do it right when school is getting out so everyone can see it haha. I wonder if there is a way to do it without having the hood up so you can be like, "WTF?"
