One suggestion is you just keep changing the fluid instead of flush. This is a very easy DIY job that can be done when changing the oil. A lot of people does these every 30K miles.

hey man...you dont have to do any flush or anything like that.....just a drain and fill.....this is how I did with my Camry....it has 137xxx miles on it and the transmission is silky smooth....btw...I did get my trans flushed because I bought my car used so I didnt know how the last owner had treated it.....but since your car has only 49000 miles and I am assuming you are the fist owner....just keep doing the drain and fill and your trans will be just fine....drain and fill a couple of times or till the fluid that comes out is clear and or nice cherry pink....that is when you will know your trans fluid is completely clean....goodluck and tell us how it goes.

I would just drain and refill maybe once every other oil change 2 or 3 times. That should replace pretty much all the fluid. Draining the pan gets about 2/5 of the fluid out.

If you have the I4 automatic, you didn't state what engine and transmission you have, you should drain and refill the differential also if it has not been done. It takes 1.6 or 1.7qt IIRC. Just fill it to the bottom of the drain hole.

30K drain and fill is recommended for normal driving. If you are stuck in a ton of stop and go and or have a lead foot, you may want to change a little more frequently.

DIY Drains $18 each time....get 10% fresh fluid...I've never felt a difference

Shop Drains $30 each...same as above.

Shop T-Tech Full Tranny Flushhhh.... $89-$99...totally different car..like brand new...smooth, like it was brand new...feels like it pulls harder ...no hard shifts...worth evey penny.

I was doing DIY drains every 10K miles till I got to 50K and then did the T-Tech Flush.

It is a world of difference.

Every 50k is a good rule imo.

And i can't beleive that a post title stating "when should i lube up?" made it past all you guyss without being ripped on. I am truly shocked.

lol maybe we're more mature....

I did a T-Tech once, it did make a world of difference, but only if you let the fluid get too dirty in the first place (which i did.)

I went to Toyota , they did my Transmission Flush. It costs about $60aud, took them about 1.5hr.

I asked them how often i should do a transmission flush, they said it is recommended twice per year, but once a year is alright.

IMO doing a Transmission flush was well worth the $$$, I noticed the difference. Gear changes much more smoother. I THINK I NEED ANOTHER FLUSH, it has been more than a year now since my last FLUSH.

I was actually gonna say "before you stick it in" or "before you meet rosy palms and her five friends," but I decided against it...

I was going to say the same thing!! ...thought better of it tho!! On topic, I usually get my trans serviced yearly, and always feel a different afterwards, much smoother shifts!

This is too good to let go lightly.

How about before you go to the dealer to do whatever work you're talking about doing in this thread.
