5sfe block with a 3sge/gte head HELP!!!

Well first thing is first hi everyone im new to this forum ive been with camryman for a long time but i desided to come over here and ask yall for some help thanks ahead of time.... ne ways

Ok here is the plan i have a 98 camry 5sfe i would like to turn it into a 5sge by putting a 3sge head on it. I am running into a few problems though i cant find the part.... also i wana know if anyone has done it and how to do the ecu part. I would perfer to use a 4th gen 3sge motor which has vvti cams... springloaded but helps with torque i hear .... also what should i do a 3sge or gte because im not completely sure of the differnces besides angle of valves. I would like to eventually put a vortech s/c on my engine running upwards of 12-17 #s. someday but i am definatly putting a s/c on after i do this mod and rebuild my block with forged pistons, rods, metal head gasket and what not.... also is it true that the crankshaft in the 5sfe is forged? that would be great too If anyone can help or through out some words of adivce please let me know. Thanks a bunch.

good luck its a big project but i just ended up payin someone to do it for me... and its still a work in progress i think the wraith was also done with a 3sgte head on a 5sfe block...but the internals are the first things to go on the 5sfe due to the weak internals... u can go to the mr2 boards or ask wraith he'd know... good luck...

I do beleive that your block wont directly bolt onto the G head and work. You have to get some coolant passages machined to work. You can use a 92-93 5sfe block with a G head without maching needed to be done.

That'd be 92-94 5sfe block.
I agree with the DJ above, do a search... also, go to the mr2 forums, all these guys go is talk about engines... you'll find the link to them on my links page.
