3rd Generation Intermediate Right Axle

Ok I'm a bit confused. Im still gathering parts for the manual swap. In my spare time I've been trying to read up on the axles and stuff... I'm a bit confused tho.

The part I need to get is the Intermediate Right Axle (jack shaft) from 92-93 V6 Camry

What exactly am I looking for...?

The passenger side axel assembly?
http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cpw...1&make_code=TO

or

The passenger side driveshaft?
http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cpw...d_name=arc&s=1

What terminology is used when reffering to this part in lets say a haynes manual??

The manual refers to this part as the inboard joint shaft. Have never seen this part offered as a seperate item.

the cv shaft is usually sold as one unit with the intermediate bearing. the bearing is replaceable, but likei said, its sold as one unit. you'll have to get the mounting plate that bolts to the block to hold the intermediate bearing in place.

If you are planning to move your auto parts, I may be interested in them.

(The brackets on the block are of interest, because I need to make a template for the JDM swap-outs...)

Ok so the unit I have to buy to get the intermediate right axle is called?

(Im looking for CV shaft but i dont see that on car-part.com

On ratkos swap notes he also mentions

Intermediate Right Axle (jack shaft): the 1MZ jack shaft is different than the 3VZ jack shaft so it needed to be ordered. The outter right axle is still the original 1MZ axle, same with the axle bearing mount.

pick up a solara/gen4 camry tranny and skip the trouble

as well, since you're going boost, the newer trannies will hold up better with lower mileage and newer synchros

yes?

yup, basically. but just remember that the clutch and flywheel can also be from the gen4 camry, solara, or mr2 as well. if gives you a lot more options that way.

myself, I'm going with a stage III spec clutch and fidanza flywheel for the camry/solara even though the mr2 one is 1 lb heavier

and #$@#!$#!$ you americans and your easy to find parts....

I can't find the shifter cables or pedals up here in Canada...the junkyards are bare right now...

Thanks again for all the info!

What would you recommend for a clutch kit?

^ I'll hold you that your word on those shifter cables....they're a fortune new from the stealership.

and I've herad great things about the Spec stage II+ and stage III clutches, so that's why I'm going with Spec. Most of the solara guys use Spec as well- all with great reviews.

centerforce has also been looked at as pretty decent. not many toyota guys seem to use exedy performance clutches though. most use the exedy oem replacement if they do use exedy.

you can browse around solaraguy.com for more boost related info- plenty of info on there
