Goo Gone?

my little "toyota" emblem on the top-left of my trunk fell off a while back and left a bunch of nasty glue behind ...

i have some goo gone, but i have a few questions

-is it safe on my trunk?
-how should i go about applying & removing it to get the glue off succesfully

and then, does anyone have any idea if the "LE" emblem has pegs? mine is about to fall off it seems, so if it doesnt have pegs i rather just take it off now while im using the Goo Gone

Just splash the Goo Gone on and follow the instructions on the bottle. Wash it off with some water and car wash or detergent. Wax the area afterwards.

The LE emblem does not have pegs. Usually only the Toyota Sombrero has pegs.

i figured out what the issue is ... the emblems took part of the paint+clear coat with them when they fell off ...

im not sure what to do about this, but i got the surface as clean and goo-free as possible with multiple rounds of Goo Gone, Wax, Wipe-n-Shine, and WD-40

No pegs on the LE or the Toyota emblems.. Fine polishing compound, not the rubbing compound, will help with the shadows the emblems left behind!

If you are going to replace the emblem, just put it on in the exact same spot and you should be fine. This also makes a good guide to show you exactly where the new emblem needs to go.
