1992 Camry Wagon (PriceQ)

After owning a Chevy as my first car, and dumping $ after $ into the thing, and watching my mom go 240k on a 95 LE 4cyl Camry, I have decided that I want a Camry. Since Im a student, and often goto events that involve sleeping over, and im also a computer consultant, I think the wagon will be the perfect choice.

I found an awesome shape 1992 Camry Le V6 Wagon. The guy wanted 4600. I talked him down to 4000. It has 123k on it. It was from Southern Illinios, and looks REAL clean (I haven't seen it in person).

My questions are: He doesnt have service records, is there any way to check for serviced parts?
Am I paying too much?
Should I look for a newer (more towards 96) wagon? Are there any reasons to do so?
Whats the 'typical' lifespan of a V6?

I know atleast 4 people around me that have >200k 92-96 Camry 4cyl, but I don't know anyone with the V6.

Pics:

Also, anyone in the Ft Lauderdale FL area wana check it out for me? . Willing to pay. Thx.

looks good, there shouldnt have been too much serviced on it

just get it up on a lift, check the exhaust, and the suspension

the price is a on the high side compared to the same sedan, but i don't know about the wagon, might look into the red book, but its in good shape and the mileage isn't that high.

my camry sedan same year has 220 000 km on it, the only thing i'm not thrilled about is the slightly clunking auto trans

but i'm sure it'll keep on goign strong for a damn long while

You mean the 3-4th clunk? Every 3rd gen ive ever driven does it to some extent, some more than others, but i've yet to drive one that didn't make a clunk while shifting into 4th.

Private Party is $3600
Retail Value is $5420

The dude bought it at auction (says carfax) after someone traded it in. The only thing that concerns me so far is the rust-ish looking stuff on the bottom of the hood, not sure what that is.

Thanks for the reply.

Motor/Transmission mounts? My car clunked when I put into R or D (Chevy Corsica) because one of the motor mounts was shot.
