upper engine mount/torque strut mount.

Word of Warning, I'm brand new to Toyota, to Front Wheel Drive and Cars in General, I've been a ford truck man all my life, so I'm still struggling with some new terms.

On my 92 Camry 2.2L 5spd theres an engine mount on the passenger side by the wheel well and the bushing is broken. I think Autozone calls it the torque strut mount.

Trouble is, they all say that they're for 4cyl with the automatic transmission. Is there a difference in this particular mount between the manual and automatice transmissions? If so, Where I can one for my particular vehicle (autozone, oreilly's, and partsamerica don't have one).

Thanks! Help out a newb.

Autozone sells one, even though all they list are for the automatics, P/N A6235. It's about 30 dollars, so if you're not sure if it'll work (neither do I), I'd get the part, take it home and compare it to the one on your car. I imagine they'll be the same.

In the meantime, you can take polyurethane and squeeze it into the broken bushing. Search on the site, there are a few who have done that (redphoenix, I think)

I would just check with one of the online Toyota dealer's website. There are several that advertise on this forum. Check the part number for your car as both an automatic and also as a manual. If they are the same part number, you have answered your question.

I have a 99 with a manual and I also had a difficult time finding the strut rod. I ordered one from this guy off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...mZ190103591469

I told him I had a manual transmission and when I got the part it matched up perfectly. I used him before when I replaced the mounts on my 1992 Honda Accord. (Talk about a nightmare motor to replace mounts on!)That was over a year ago and the mounts are holding up just fine.

Get it at the Toyota dealer. when I got a new mount, same as you need, I went to Napa and it decintigrated after 10k miles. My OEM Toyota one has been in there now for 10k miles, and it has no signs of ware.

This is a good Toyota site to get OEM parts at a discount. It;s also in TX as you are. http://www.toyotaworld.com/
