1994 Toyota Camry V6, Slipping

Have an issue with my 1994 Toyota Camry V6 Automatic issue is when I am at a red light and tapping on the gas lurching up, Torque converter going from engage to disengage when the traffic light turns green and step on the gas the transmission appears to be slipping for about 2 seconds then engages. This is the only scenario where I find transmission issues going up hills, either in drive or reverse is fine and shifts through gears normally. Any advise would be greatly appreciated...

hey man I got a 1998 V6 Auto which has being doing the same thing for more than 20,000 miles now. I flushed the tranny and did drain and fills a couple of times but the only thing that helped a bit was that I made sure that the oil does not go over the hot line on the dip stick. My car still does that....if I understood you correctly....I have the same problem too...because it goes something like this...while driving in slow traffic...say at 10-15 mph...when you let go of the gas and the RPM drops to about 700-900 and give the car gas again...the transmission does not engage until the car hits 1400-1600 RPM...atleast thats what my car does every now and then. The problem has not gotton worse for me but in fact better my filling the oil to the correct level...but I still have not been able to get rid of this 100%...all I can say is...if you can somehow find out to fix it then great for you man....but if you cant...dont sweat it I guess...because my car is running okay for more than a year now with this issue

yes it can be level related. I have experienced the same symptom on my wife's 93 camry: slipping in first when going up a hill from a stop. That was a low fluid level. The dip stick can be really hard to read on some of these cars. Check it when it is cold first thing in the morning before starting.
